If this option is ON, the LinkGenerator will investigate each text note found on the pages if it could be an article number. It does so by comparing the pattern of the text note with the loaded article numbers. All text nodes on the activated pages end on page areas activate for processing will be matched against the article numbers in the database. In this procedure, your entries and settings in the Article number filter will strongly influence the result (this is very important, please read the chapter about the Article number filter).
Creating links between article numbers and pages and database records is the most important feature of CDF files. This is the way how logical reference from articles on pages are created to the article records in the integrated database. Only these links allow the user to double click on an article number on a page in order to open either the article window or to invoke any of different further processing with this article.
