The CatalogInstaller is the central tool to manage your CatalogDatabase. You use it to:
• Install CDF catalogs, i.e. to physically copy catalogs onto your PC and to make them known to your CatalogDatabase
• Uninstall CDF catalogs from you CatalogDatabase
In Clickcat-Producer versions the CatalogInstaller is also used to:
• Convert CDF files into the editable CDF format
• or convert files from editable CDF format into the CDF format and
• upload catalogs and catalog updates onto a server
Some features are limited to some versions. As always, this manual covers all Clickcat versions because due to the great number of different Clickcat versions it is virtually impossible to exactly adjust the manual to each specific version.
In Clickcat-Producer versions the CatalogInstaller is used to upload generated or changed catalogs onto the update server (upload) so that these catalogs are available to the users of the Clickcat software. This is true both for entire (new) catalogs in CDF format and also for changes (updates) to existing catalogs.
