Range of exported article data

Here you can select the range of article data, which is to be included into the generated CDF file.

Let us remind you that CDF files do not only contain all the contents of catalog pages such as texts, pictures etc., but that they also include all article data, which are used in the client PC in connection with a given CDF catalog. This article data will be imported into the client's article database.

This is how you transfer entire catalogs and regular updates to your customers PCs and how you include the article data needed.

By selecting one of the available items you determine the number of articles to be included in the CDF file:

• Export all articles in the catalog

In this case all the articles contained in this catalog will be included in the new CDF file. This is the preferred setting when a complete catalog is generated and uploaded and when a catalog update is generated, in which most or all of the article data has changed.

• All articles on selected pages

In this case only the articles contained on the selected pages will be included in the new selected CDF file. This is the preferred setting for updates, where only the selected pages have changed and all of the article data remains unchanged.

• All articles in the database

Sometimes you want to distribute more articles than are contained in the catalog. Often old articles or accessory articles are not mentioned in a printed catalog and therefore not contained in the CDF file. Still, these articles should be made available to customers. They can therefore be included in the generated CDF file.

This selection will include all the articles currently contained in your database into the generated CDF file. You can also use this feature to only transport the current state of your article database to your customers. All you need to select is only one page and you will have all the articles included and updated in your customer's databases.

• Do not export any article data.

Sometimes it is also desirable to only transfer, change, edit existing or new catalog pages to your customers without any article data. In this case select this item.
